Pentecost Sunday Service

Pentecost Sunday Service

May 19th is Pentecost Sunday. It was a time when the early disciples’ lives were transformed. The early church really got going. It’s the time when God poured out His Holy Spirit on the early disciples of Jesus, equipping, strengthening and empowering them. They were changed for good.

On Pentecost at St John’s 11 people are going to be confirmed i.e. commissioned to serve Christ. They will declare their faith in God, stating that Jesus is their Lord and Saviour and friend, and that they are going to follow Him. One of the prayers that will be used will include the words ‘Let the Holy Spirit rest upon them.’ Pray with me that those confirmed will be filled and empowered with the Holy Spirit and that the occasion will be life changing. Pray with me that each of them will grow in the fruit of the Holy Spirit – in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. This is a significant day for each person being confirmed and also for all of the Lord’s family as we continually seek to be refreshed and empowered by His Holy Spirit.

It’s going to be a great celebration. Hope to see you at there!
